Renovation of the B1 concourse (the main shopping arcade) floor at Palaceside Building is complete. You have probably noticed — work finished after November 20, about three weeks ago. It should feel fully settled in by now.

Work proceeded from the east through to the passage to Hitotsubashi, with the floor fully replaced=photo above. Photos at right and below show the 1F before renovation — one uniform tile color, as B1 looked until recently. The new floor is gray-based with light and dark lines like stepping stones

. Clean and sharp, I think — what do you think?

Human adaptability is remarkable. Because it relates to my work, I watched closely and indulged in little reflections — "Looks nice~" — but otherwise you probably got used to it in three days and forgot it changed.

Daily traffic at the building exceeds 20,000; 1F and B1 in particular connect directly to Takebashi Station and see heavy use. Partial cracking and fading had become noticeable, so we decided on a full refresh.

We are planning to renew 1F next fiscal year. We will announce when details are set.
