The "Inui-dori Public Opening," letting you enjoy autumn colors in the heart of the Imperial Palace, begins Saturday, December 5, through Wednesday the 9th — five days, 10:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m., one-way from Sakashita-mon along the west side of Hasuike Moat to Inui-mon (exit Inui-mon by 3:30 p.m.). You may branch off to the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace and leave via Kitahanebashi

-mon and others=see map at right.
Held twice — cherry blossoms last spring and autumn colors now — each drew more than 300,000 visitors, so public interest is high. Hearing that Palaceside Building would open specially on Sunday, December 6, when we are usually closed, in step with the palace opening, TV-Asahi's early-morning show "Good! Morning" visited for coverage on the 3rd. An interview with our sales director Sugawara=photo above and more were part of a segment building excitement for the palace opening. On air around 7:00 a.m. on the 4th. If you have time, please watch.
As you know, the Takebashi area has few restaurants; even on weekdays, many people from nearby buildings come to Palaceside Building's dining floors at lunch. On Sundays most buildings close and the streets feel empty.

During last year's walk-through, a large crowd flowed down Kii-no-kuni-zaka toward Takebashi=photo at left. Given our location as the nearest station to Inui-mon after the walk-through, we decided to open specially on the 6th.
As of noon on the 3rd, 15 restaurants and cafes plan to operate on the 6th. On the 5th we open as on a normal Saturday with 28 outlets operating. Please stop by on your way back from the palace.
We will place copies of our earlier "Tokyo · Takebashi Autumn Foliage Guide" (A3)=photo below at the east 1F reception for free pickup. The Mainichi Newspapers, headquartered in Palaceside Building, will also distribute sample newspapers and a separate autumn foliage feature.
The public opening began in 2014 as a one-off in April and December to mark His Majesty's 80th birthday in December

2013, and was so popular it became annual. However, openings will be suspended next autumn and spring 2017 for tree renewal on Inui-dori, so if you miss this one, autumn colors may not return for two years — please take this chance.
