Today, November 6, is Chiyoda Ward’s mass cleanup day. Under crisp autumn skies, about 100 tenant employees at Palaceside Building eagerly picked up litter=photo above.

Held every June and November under the Chiyoda Ward Living Environment Ordinance so residents and workers can beautify the streets where they live and work, Palaceside Building gathers early each time to clean around the building.
At 8 a.m. we met at the west entrance by Takebashi crossing. Gloves, tongs, and bags in hand, we spread around the building and worked up a sweat for about thirty minutes.
Regular large groups include 25 from NTT Business Associe in matching yellow windbreakers, 21 from NTT Business Associe Partners in orange, 25 from FamilyMart in black jumpers, and 10 from MS&AD Systems — but numbers aren’t everything. Thanks to everyone’s spirit, including those who came alone. Building staff and contractors for facilities and cleaning worked hard too.

We cleaned the inner-moat sidewalk plantings in front of the building, under the Metropolitan Expressway=photo upper right, and around the Nihonbashi River, nearly circling the building — paper, plastic bags, wood chips, cigarette butts, cans, and PET bottles. Trash piled at the main entrance=photo left: fourteen 45-liter bags (nine burnable, two non-burnable, one each for bottles, cans, PET).
Thank you, everyone, for your hard work. \(^ ^)/
