Retiling the Palaceside Building B1 concourse (the shopping arcade's main passage). As many know from our September 8 blog, work has begun. Up to the area before the west escalator, the new floor is already in place = photo at top. For comparison, here again is the previous condition = photo at bottom.
With more than 20,000 people passing through daily, partial cracks and fading had become noticeable.
Because we strip and relay tile, work runs mainly Saturday and

Sunday nights, covering floors with vinyl sheets so shops can stay open. During Silver Week, the arcade was closed the 20th–23rd, so from the night of the 19th through the morning of the 24th we could work in one block and made good progress.
During construction, floors may stay sheeted even in daytime. Currently sheeted in front of New Tokyo, Iroha (sushi), Takehashi (tonkatsu) and Takasago (curry) — thanks for understanding.
We plan to finish by the morning of Tuesday, November 24. Sorry for the inconvenience; please keep cooperating.
