The entire floor of the Palaceside Building B1 concourse (the shopping arcade's main passage) will be

retiled. Work starts the night of Saturday, September 12, mainly on weekend nights.
Besides more than 7,100 people who work in the building, many pass through here — those entering from the east front or Hitotsubashi gate to reach the subway, and customers visiting B1 and 1F restaurants. Daily traffic exceeds 20,000.
Partial cracks and fading from age had become noticeable, so we decided on a full retile.
The job strips the current floor and lays new tile, so there will be some noise. To avoid disrupting shops, we will work mainly Saturday and Sunday nights, covering areas with vinyl sheets and proceeding carefully. Starting the night of September 12, we plan to finish by Tuesday, November 24. We will proceed from the we

st; in each section, the floor may stay covered with sheets during the day for a period. Please watch your step where walking is awkward.
The current floor uses one uniform tile color; the new design, as in the upper-right diagram, uses gray as the base with light and dark stepping-stone lines — quite stylish. When done, it should look like the lower diagram.
We apologize for the inconvenience during construction and ask for your cooperation.
