Halloween decorations appeared on B1F and 1F of Palaceside Building starting earlier this week. Marking the third year of Halloween decorations in the building, this year's eye-catching display adopts a "Japanese Romance" motif inspired by Taisho Roman, held in collaboration with the "Takehisa Yumeji: Creators of the Era" exhibition (organized by Mainichi Shimbun and others) opening on October 23 at The National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo.
Celebrated every year on October 31, Halloween traditionally features "jack-o'-lanterns" carved from pumpkins, as well as children dressed as monsters and spirits visiting neighboring houses to receive sweets.
While last year's display featured a giant green monster rising on B1F, this year creates an image of stained glass adorned with traditional Japanese patterns, evoking a retro and nostalgic atmosphere.
